If you select a container in the LEX LDAP Browser, then you can initiate a directory search with the option Edit > Search (or CTRL-F). The search dialog offers both a fast, convenient search as well as a search based on a complex LDAP search filter. The search results are displayed in an object-list that has all the features of a full-fledged LEX browser (see ttributes, write operations simultaneously for many objects, data export, applying pipe scripts, etc.)
. . .
The LEX Filter Factory (accessible through the option Tools > Filter Factory or CTRL-I) allows to edit an LDAP filter quickly and create even complex LDAP filter with a nested boolean structure through a convenient graphical interface to save and reload . The filters from this Filter Factory can be used either for an immediate global objects search, or they are used in searches and when viewing the list of objects in the LDAP browser.
. .
There are a lot of customized LDAP filter editors to create the basic filter elements - for all kinds of attribute data types the editors help you find the correct filter syntax - even for the most complex attribute syntaxes or bit field flag values. When you browse object attributes in the display list, you can create instantly a filter from any attributebased on the current value.
