LEX Screenshots - What is new in version 1.3.005 ?

New Attribute Datatype Converter Tools

LEX comes now with tools for converting the following LDAP attribute syntax data types:

Numeric Values (Decimal <-> Hex <-> Binary <-> Bit Field)
Binary Hex Values <-> Text
GUID Values <-> Binary Data
SID Values (SDDL) <-> Binary Data

Bitmap Attribute Editor

Due to a former bug in the bitmap editor, LEX could not open existing bitmap values (like "thumbnailPhoto" in Active Directory). This bug is fixed now - so if you want to store thumbnail photo data in the directory, LEX can handle this. These pictures are displayed for example as employee photos in Outlook messages.

Conversion of Microsoft SIDs into Object Names

In manchen Fällen enthalten Attribute von Active Directory Objekten als Wert die Security IDs (SIDs) anderer Objekte. Das wichtigste Beispiel hierfür ist das Attribut tokenGroups. Eine normale SID besteht aus einem 28 Byte-Binärwert, der durch die SDDL-Schreibweise meist so oder so ähnlich aussieht:

Wenn man nun wissen will, welches Objekt sich hinter einer bestimmten SID verbirgt, dann kann man zwar mit der LEX Pipe Factory einen passenden LDAP-Filter erstellen, jedoch ist dies mühevoll, wenn es sich um viele SIDs handelt.
